Instructions: Use your mouse to play this game.
Thirty one is the magic number in Stop The Bus, a pub style card game. The aim is to land near 31 using cards of a single suit, with Aces counting 11 and picture cards 10. A three of a kind is a shortcut worth 30. It is a good one to know from our Cards category.
The tension comes from deciding when your hand is good enough. Stop The Bus is free, and each click either improves your hand or ends the round on your terms.
Chasing 31
On your turn, click the deck or the waste pile to take a card, then click a card in your hand to throw it away. Only cards of one suit add up toward 31, so keep the suit you are strongest in. When you think your total will beat your opponents, stop the bus before you discard, and the hands are compared.

- Watch what opponents pick from the waste to guess their suit.
- A three of a kind for 30 can beat many single suit hands, so keep an eye on pairs.
