Description
Instructions: Use your mouse to play this game.
Mahjong FRVR is a Mahjong Solitaire game that keeps the learning curve flat. The layout is a heap of tiles, and you take it apart two identical tiles at a time. It has company in the Mahjong Games section, but few are quicker to get into.
It is the sort of puzzle you can play half asleep or with full focus, and both work. The early moves come easily, while the last few tiles decide whether a board comes out clean. Mahjong FRVR is free, and phone players simply tap tiles.
Clearing the heap
In Mahjong FRVR a tile is playable when it is uncovered and one long side has no neighbor pressing against it. Select two such tiles with the same symbol and they are removed. Keep making pairs until no tiles remain. If you run out of moves, the board has you beat, so plan the order of your pairs.
Avoiding dead ends
- Prefer pairs that uncover new tiles over pairs that open nothing.
- When a tall stack sits in the middle, work on it early.
- Keep track of how many of each symbol are left before splitting a set of four.
